Artist Talk: Cassie Augusta Jørgensen ~ Mathias Kryger

Please join us on Sunday 28 January, 3–4pm, for a conversation between artist Cassie Augusta Jørgensen and art critic and curator Mathias Kryger based on Jørgensen’s current solo exhibition, Slit Your Click, at O—Overgaden.

The talk will be held in Danish and is free of charge, as is admission to all of O—Overgaden’s exhibitions.

This weekend is the final days of the INTRO exhibitions by Anna Sofie Mathiasen and Cassie Augusta Jørgensen.

You are also welcome to join the finissage event Saturday 27 January, 3-6pm: Beyond the two INTRO exhibitions, this Saturday afternoon will entail an Artist Talk with Anna Sofie Mathiasen, a mini concert with Okay Kaya, and the third and final performance by Cassie Augusta Jørgensen and Clara Dessau.

Cassie Augusta Jørgensen (b. 1991, DK) is a visual artist, choreographer, and dancer based in Berlin and educated at the Royal Danish Art Academy in 2022 as well as Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York. Jørgensen has previously exhibited at venues including Auto Italia, London (UK); 1.1 Basel (CH); Sophiensaele, Berlin (DE); and Museet for Samtidskunst, Roskilde (DK).

Mathias Kryger (b. 1977) is an art critic and curator, and has worked for the daily newspaper Politiken since 2015. As a curator, Kryger is behind exhibitions such as William Forsythe in the Company of Others (2015) and Overtaci & Galskabens Kunst (2017) at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, and has co-curated the exhibition/podcast projects A Painter of our Time (2020) at Institut Funder Bakke on the CIA’s influence on Scandinavian art during the Cold War, and Psychopathia Sexualis at O—Overgaden, tracing the artistic output of the AIDS epidemic in Denmark. In addition, Kryger has worked as a performance artist and pop singer, as well as a TV host for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
