For the fifth year in a row, O—Overgaden now invites young artists to apply for our custom-fit post-graduate program INTRO, a well-resourced 1-year program focusing on supporting newly graduated visual artists who are tightly connected to the Danish art scene toward sustainable artistic development and international exchange.

Supported by Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen’s Foundation, INTROis an extended program—a one-year collaboration with O—Overgaden tailored to the individual artist/duo/group. It includes financial support for production and travel as well as artistic, curatorial, administrative, and technical advice from leading Danish and international voices in the arts.

The one-year collaboration culminates in a large solo exhibition at O—Overgaden. The program aims to push at the discussion of “best practice”, exploring how art institutions can best support younger artistic voices.

Previous participants in the O—Overgaden INTROprogram include Tora Schultz and Isabella Solar Villaseca (both 2022), Dina El Kaisy Friemuth and Sóley Ragnarsdóttir (2021), Kim Richard Adler Mejdahl and Iselin Forslund Toubro (2020), as well as this year’s artists Cassie Augusta Jørgensen and Anna Sofie Mathiasen, whose major solo exhibitions open at O—Overgaden on 24 November 2023.

O—Overgaden is now initiating the Open Call for 2024, looking to start collaborations with two new young artists. The collaboration with the two chosen artists will run from January 2024 to January 2025, with solo exhibitions planned to open in November 2024.

Please note that applications are only open to artists with a strong connection to the Danish art scene and who have graduated (MA or equivalent) from a Danish or international art academy within the last five years.

The deadline is 6 October 2023, 2pm (Copenhagen time).
