The Silence That We Share: Artist Talk by Monia Sander Haj-Mohamed & Aukje Lepoutre Ravn
Join us at O—Overgaden for a conversation between performance artist, author and currently exhibiting artist Monia Sander Haj-Mohamed and Aukje Lepoutre Ravn, Interim Director at O—Overgaden about Haj-Mohamed’s practice, which explores the span of art as a performative space and sets a scene in which collective realities can be disrupted and negotiated by those present.
The conversation revolves around the textual practice of Haj-Mohamed. In books as well as in scripts, like the one presented in the exhibition at O—Overgaden, the artist looks to theatrical devices to address questions of lust, social hierarchies, and healing processes. Visitors are invited to participate and take the lead in these productions, putting them at the very center of the works.
Haj-Mohamed will also dive into the wordless dialogues that unfold in her meditative drawings, created through an intuitive process of focused energy, and now on display in the exhibition.
The Artist Talk takes place just after the weekly manuscript reading in the exhibition. The script reading starts at 17.30 and is open for everyone to join as well – all one has to do is show up.
Registration is not necessary and admission to O—Overgaden, as always, is free of charge.
