RESTLESS WORK
Please join us for the first event in the talk series RESTLESS WORK AND ARTISTIC TROUBLE, this time co-hosted by O—Overgaden and PASS—Center for Practice-based Art Studies, University of Copenhagen.
The event RESTLESS WORK sets off with a reading and talk by American poet and scholar, Jackie Wang, who is currently writing on movement, oceanic feeling, and watery dreams. Wang's address will be followed by a dialogue on the restless museum and restless work, between curator Hendrik Folkerts and artist Cally Spooner, marking their new shared research on liveness as a refusal to settle, amongst others published in Mousse Magazine (please find the text here).
The two part event follows a day-long deep publishing workshop at PASS titled “restless work: a grandmother, Mike Kelley, and nature,” whose participants—Cally Spooner, Hendrik Folkerts, Jackie Wang, Isabel Valli, and Rhea Dall—all will be present at the event at O—Overgaden

Taking place through the autumn 2026 at O—Overgaden, RESTLESS WORK AND ARTISTIC TROUBLE forms a series of dialogue, debates, and workshops, putting into practise “restlessness” and “trouble” as vital somatic and psychosocial resistance to an accelerationist optimization climate. Practicioners spanning psychoanalysis, literature, bodywork, oral history, museum studies, and visual art will discuss where “restlessness” and “trouble” exists in their practices in the face of destabilising global forces—and whether, why, and how this practice-based method might aid to keep life going.
