PERFORMANCE by Cassie Augusta Jørgensen – a part of an afternoon that focuses on QUEER / LIBERATION with painting, literature, and performance
The exhibition project Psychopathia Sexualis, curated by Mathias Kryger, presents a performance by Cassie Augusta Jørgensen.
In 1912, the Ballets Russes’ Vaslav Nijinsky shook the Paris of the time when he masturbated on stage at Théâtre du Châtelet while dressed as a faun. 100 years later, artist, chorographer, and dancer Cassie Augusta Jørgensen (b.1991, DK) brings to light Nijinsky’s performance through an artistic remake and continuance that insists on free sexuality.
The performance is part of a program supported by Ny Carlsbergfondet.
