Overgaden POLEMIK
Overgaden POLEMIK is a series of debates discussing important challenges and phenomena on the art scene with invited guests. In 2014, POLEMIK focused on art institutional challenges such as the financial situation of art institutions, the many debates about mergers and the rhetorics of art institutional writing. In 2015, POLEMIK will focus on discussions and challenges in the meeting between artist and art institution.

Overgaden LECTURES
With Lecture Performance – Between Art and Academia in 2013, Overgaden began a new series of international conferences entitled Overgaden LECTURES, which annually takes critical stake of a current tendency on the international art scene. In 2015, Overgaden LECTURES will focus on the phenomenon of “outsider art.”

New application procedure and new website
In time for the new year, Overgaden has instituted fixed application deadlines twice annually.
The deadlines are March 1 and September 1 where it will be possible to apply for an exhibition period approximately one year ahead. With this new procedure, Overgaden wishes to make the  planning process of exhibitions easier and more transparent for applying artists and curators.
The new deadlines are announced along with Overgaden’s recently published new website.

Overgaden is Copenhagen’s innovative exhibition space for dansk and international contemporary art. With changing exhibitions and events such as artist talks, lectures, performances, and film screenings, Overgaden functions as a platform for the newest developments on the art scene and as forum for discussion and debate.
